India celebrated its National Nutrition Week in the beginning seven days of September. The concept of Indian National nutrition week was initialized by the US government considering lack of nutrition in Indian poverty grasped people.
The Indian government priorly
focuses on enlightening and acknowledging the country regarding importance of
basic nutrition. The theme this year was 'Eat Right, Bite by Bite'.
Nutrition is basically the
process of providing or obtaining food necessary for health and growth.
Whereas, Malnutrition is a disease where an individual faces loss of one or more
nutrient content from its body.
Food habits are obviously
followed according to the environment we live in. India, being a Peninsula is very
rich in diversity from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Here we are to elaborate Indian
food and its nutritional benefits:
Having wide ranging diversity
also pros in having high food diversity. A typical Indian meal consist of:
1. Salad
2. Roti, Cooked vegetables and Rice
3. Pulses and Raita
4. Pickle and Chutney
5. Sweets
Each and every meal is healthy in its own way. The sum of all the
constituent creates a healthy balanced diet.
Not only the elements present
there, but we Indians have a typical way of an arranging them in order to eat.
We initialize from salad, then roti ,rice both along with veggies, dal and raita
then conclude with sweets.
Perks of Indian food:
1. Good for heart.
2. Antibacterial, full of nutrients and high in fibre.
3. Carcinogenic.
4. Low in saturated fat.
5. Consisting mostly of grains and vegetable.
Perks doesn't stop here. Indian people often eat using hands rather than
cutlery which exhibits good metabolism, weight loss and controlled blood
pressure.
A lot of people do complain
about food being fatty, spicy, oily and unhealthy but if we follow the original
cooking procedure we get the best out of our traditional food.
Our agenda here is to make
you aware of varieties of food and its nutritional values which not only is
good for mental and physical but also is welcoming, nourishing and wholesome.
Make Indian food with traditional stuffs and there is nothing healthier.
